Shaking the Paralysis in America - Get the Lead Out!

The recent repetitive waves and tidal surges of bad news that we've all had to deal with have left us numb. Detachment is an innate defense mechanism that kicks in when our senses are overwhelmed with negative input, pain stimuli, and/or fear triggers.

You know of what I speak--terrorism, international tensions, natural disasters, man-made disasters (ala the oil spill in the Gulf), economic depression, personal financial uncertainties, racial hostilities, crime, governmental encroachment in personal lives and liberties, corporate greed ...

I'm sure you can add a few more fear factors to personalize this list to your own situation. The result for many has been a kind of debilitating shock.

That's fine, for a while. But eventually it's not OK anymore.

My point is, sometimes you just have to make the effort to get back in the ballgame. If you sit for too long, you become irrelevant. Your life and your future become pointless.

It's a fair comparison to look at those who are unemployed long enough ... they become discouraged, stop seeking work, and the government even stops counting them in the primary U.S. unemployment statistics, since the "numb" become so irrelevant. The overriding, unconcerned attitude of officialdom is, "If they stop caring about themselves, why should we?" They consider those detached folks to be out-of-sight, harmless, and non-involved. In other words--no threat to the agendas of the moment.

Are You Ready Yet to React?

Think about how you felt a while back--maybe it was years ago now--when you knew times like this were coming. Perhaps that prescience is what got you involved in crisis preparedness in the first place. You worked and invested yourself in getting ready--in becoming informed on many levels, in preparing your loved ones for the days when everything would change, in positioning your household to weather the storms.

Well, here we are. It's the change we believed would come. It is in process.

Yes, the shock of an incessant, intense rolling series of "disturbances in our force" put many of us on the sidelines for a while. In a way, it's like we couldn't believe our eyes and ears that this is all happening so fast.

But now it's time to get re-engaged. We're at the stage where preparedness is less of an objective, since we are presumably as ready as we can be in that way. It now has to be about awareness, analysis, and activism ... steeling ourselves for the struggle ... re-energizing ourselves as the changes still to come will undoubtedly be coming at us at an accelerating pace.

Stay safe. Be strong.

The "Get It Done" Comprehensive Food Package is On Sale!

If you're just now coming to realize that the sun is setting on your chance to prepare for the dark days ahead, well--we have your solution.

Safecastle's "Get It Done" Comprehensive Emergency Storage Food Package is sale priced to get you value and quick peace of mind--increasingly elusive these days. The 84-case food package is made up of the very best storage-food varieties on the market--top quality, fresh from the suppliers, longest shelf lives, the kinds of food Americans are used to eating.

The package is discounted $2250 and it ships free to the lower 48!!

1.2M Calories

What's it really worth to you? Well, this package provides a total of 1.2 million calories. That's 1,200,000 calories! At the level of 2000 calories a day, that translates to 600 days for one adult.

84 different full case food varieties, to include the best freeze dried entrees, wet-pack meats, salt, spices, coffee beans, comfort foods, and more. The top food brands in the marketplace. Everything a body needs to survive and thrive. Canned and packaged to last for years ... decades in fact.

Buyers club members also get a free Excalibur food dehydrator and a can of emergency non-hybrid veggie seeds as a part of the package price.

In times like this, it's critical we put our available funds into assets that will at the very least retain some inherent value. Is there anything that better fills that description than high-quality storage food?

The Wait is Over; Canned Cheese is Now Shipping

As you probably know, the Bega brand canned cheese and the Red Feather canned cheese are identical--just different labels. Bega is actually the company that produces the cheese and does the canning.

We have sold both labels in the past. Now we are offering the Bega label to you at the exact same low pricing as what the Red Feather cheese was offered for in January of this year.

Buyers club member pricing is $111.20 for a case of 36 7-oz. cans.

This stuff is very popular and getting more so with each shipment that comes ashore here from Australia. For those of us who are into preparedness--it is a perfect addition to the larder. It needs no refrigeration and stores indefinitely. That means years ... decades even!

And of course, as always, it ships free to the lower 48.

Get yours now.

Long-Term Storage Hot Dogs, Canned Freeze Dried BBQ Beef, Canned Green Coffee Beans

These are a few of the many new products available in the Safecastle Royal store (buyers club members be sure to log-in to see your member-discounted pricing) ...

Yoders Canned hot dogs
for long-term storage (10 years + ... maybe +++)!!!

Carefully developed by one of our best suppliers over the course of the last two years to be just the right combination of all-U.S. ingredients--these dogs taste great and are good to store for a LONG time.

They are already very popular--we're trying to keep up with demand.

______

Other newer products in the Safecastle Royal store--actually the green coffee beans are back after being unavailable for several months. Canned green coffee beans are really the only way to store coffee for years (if you like good-tasting coffee at least).
______

Also ... two new Mountain House products available for the first time in #10 cans--
BBQ Sauce w/ Beef and Breakfast Skillet (both of them delicious in your wrap tortilla ... or on their own).
______

There are other
new products as well. Check them out, as well as all the popular standbys in the store. I somehow don't think conditions are going to be getting any better for stocking up for dark days ahead.

BTW--the Red Feather canned cheese is going to be available again very soon and the butter will be shortly as well.

Sarajevo Survival Guide

I just came across this instructive, easy-to-digest, practical perspective on survival, as arrived at from the experiences of the population of Sarajevo during the longest siege of a capital city in the history of modern warfare (from April 1992 to February 1996).

Real-world insights and tips that we hope to personally never have to experience or to fall back on ...

Our Wadena Tornado

The "Safecastle" family was up in Wadena, Minnesota this weekend to clean-up and do some expedient repairs to my mother's home there.

The evening of June 17, a powerful tornado ripped up a wide section of that town (one of about 39 tornadoes throughout the state that night)--destroying or damaging 262 homes, and several buildings such as the high school, hockey rink, swimming facility, community center, and more. The National Weather Service determined that tornadic winds of up to 170 mph wreaked havoc in an area a mile wide and ten miles long.

Witnessing the damage firsthand, I can testify that it is a divine miracle that no one was killed. And on a more personal level, it was a blessing that my mom's home was spared the kind of damage that occurred to the homes all around hers. It does not hurt, I suppose, that she has spent her life as a faithful servant of God, and as a minister's wife for more than 50 years. (A church in the middle of the destruction was also largely undamaged!)

It was also a blessing that she was not at home, but visiting my brother in Ohio at the time.

Our heartfelt prayers are offered up for the people of Wadena and all the others throughout Minnesota impacted by that outbreak of damaging storms a few days ago. To have one's home or business and neighborhood suddenly destroyed is a test that none of us wants to experience. But when it does come to that--the strength of friends, family, community, and faith does carry us through.

Socialists See Revolutionary Opportunities Today in Global Unrest Due to Economic Upheaval

There are certainly some elements of truth that ring the bell in this piece posted on the World Socialist Web Site. You must read this if you fancy your head being anywhere near the light of day.

Know at the very least that there are those itching to organize violent revolution just about everywhere throughout the West this summer, taking advantage of growing dissatisfaction with the status quo.

Be very careful about who you throw your allegiance to if and when things start getting frothy, my friends.

Excerpt: Calliol states, “This crisis is directly connected to the end of the world order as we know it since 1945—and even earlier since the European colonisation process. Therefore, the whole global fabric centred on the US for 60 years is slowly collapsing, generating turmoil of all sorts.”

Asked where social unrest will end, she replies, “War. It’s as simple and as horrifying as that.”

Survival Guru at GlockTalk

Have I mentioned that recently the good folks at GlockTalk.com approached me and asked if I would consider serving as their resident Survival & Preparedness Expert, answering questions and moderating that particular forum on their site?

Well, I said OK. It was flattering. A survival expert! Well, actually, I guess I see myself more as a preparedness expert if you must know. And the fact is, GlockTalk is a popular, well-established forum--with something like 2000 users online at any given time.

(You know, isn't everyone a survival expert in their own right? ... until they fail to survive any longer.)

Anyway, it's kind of fun. I get to help folks direct their thinking in ways that may aid them in working through some difficult situations or confusing thought processes. There have been some good questions submitted and I've done my best trying to deliver succinct, entertaining, and informative responses.

See what you think:

Is it just me?

I'm tired. I'm sad and disgusted.

I'm pretty much resigned to the dismal prognosis for our country that is settling over the hearts and minds of all Americans these days.

I've been very actively fighting this for nearly a decade now. What was apparent to some of us that long ago is now at last evident to everybody. That is, the future sucks--for any number of reasons.

I have grown weary of talking about it and how it will come about. Because the fact is, we are now there at the portal of the precipice. Watch your next step--it's a doozy!

There's of course at least a little politics in all of us. But for me, all these years, my main focus has been on helping to get people prepared for what I figured was going to come sooner or later. The overall momentum downhill never did slow up much through the years, and certainly never reversed course.

Well, at least, we've had ample time to make ready for the storms. Perhaps, by the grace of God, we'll have just a bit more time.

Stay safe.
