I recently received a review copy of a book by Ted Koppel (of Nightline fame) that will be on sale October 27. The title: "Lights Out: A Cyberattack, A Nation Unprepared, Surviving the Aftermath."
I was asked by the publisher to review the book and help get the word out if I liked it.
I have found the book to be critical reading for our times. In a nutshell, Koppel lays out the convincing case for a very likely and imminent cyber attack on America's electrical grid. When it happens, it will be devastating and an undeniable act of war.
This may not be news to most folks who read this blog or who are Safecastle customers, but the way Mr. Koppel does an excellent job of fact-based, authoritative, and time-sensitive reporting is eye-opening.
He goes beyond the expected risk overview. He adroitly moves to the general lack of governments' preparedness for this threat out there and then talks in some detail about the need for individual preparedness and how to survive what is coming.
This is not fiction. This a reporter's investigative report that confirms the need for individual preparedness and much more. Highly recommended for most any American today--prepper or not. If you're not into personal preparedness today, you will be after reading this book.
