Floods and its aftermath...

Floods can be justified simply as over-flowing water but what we know about floods is it can be dangerous wreaking havoc on property and life alike. Flooding may happen with only a few inches of water, or it may cover a house to the rooftop. General floods can be prepared for in advance as the cause can be depicted and measures can be taken to avoid loss.

Flash floods, on the other hand are sudden and extreme volume of water that flow rapidly and cause inundation. Because of its rapid nature flash floods are difficult to forecast and give people little time to escape or to take food and other essentials with them.

Even if a flood is survived, the aftermath of a flood is even worse. Due to water flowing from sewage, flood water is extremely contaminated and not apt for consumption. There has been a history of diseases that sprout up as a result of stagnant water. One needs to ensure, surroundings are kept clean and drinking water is stored separately.

There are many portable filters on the market but Berkey Water filter systems are so advanced that they are classified as a purifier. The Berkey water filter is nothing like the standard water filters. The portable Berkey can even be used to filter non-potable or unhealthy water in emergency situations where electricity and water pressure are not available.

Whether it is normal tap water or water from challenging environments like wells, rivers and lakes, the Berkey handles them all with ease. It is is the most flexible and adaptable filtering system available. Berkey water costs less than 1 cent per litre. The Black Berkey replacement cartridge is cleanable and it provides an economical, reliable and powerful long term solution to poor water quality issues that is unrivaled.

The Big Berkey is the most popular model. It has a long standing reputation for quality and service. Berkey water filters are used throughout the world by numerous international relief organizations to provide clean emergency drinking water during times of crisis or natural disaster.
