The chowhauls and responder kit are goodideas, however I feel they are way over priced. I put togather my own respodner kit, using most the exact same items and some ideas of my own for about $100.00 dollars less.
I used the Maxpedition, radio, first aid, knife, light, blanket, pocket survival kit and tool logic items. I added 25ft of nylon cord, a swiss army knife, 2 packets of G.I. toilet paper, an additional photon light and a wire saw. Their priceof$239 is a bit high for the items you get

FYI, these ScramKits were an experiment ... a joint venture with another company. We produced a limited quantity of each--the Responder and the ChowHaul. We sold them all and recouped our investment , but determined that demand did not warrant further allocation of our resources. Yes, of course folks who wanted to assemble their own kits could likely do it cheaper--but as competitive as we aim to be, our goal is not to offer products at cost--we as a business, have overhead. It is quite low, since we are a small operation, but we do need to make a living. ;-)
